2010 Coaching Information

Coaching and Volunteer Background Check Procedure

Beginning October 1, 2009 all volunteer background applications will follow this procedure to better benefit our volunteers. Any adult on the fields, or working with players, must have an ID card to indicate completion of, and cleared status via, this process. Steps are indicated below:
  1. Fill out background application and make a clear copy of Driver’s License
  2. Fill out Social Security Disclosure form
  3. Deliver in a sealed envelope with your name on the outside, and a copy of a valid coaching certificate, to the Lutz Leaguerette Board Room after each board meeting from 8-8:30p
  4. Pictures will taken for each applicant and submitted along with each applicant’s background check paperwork
  5. Applications will be processed by the HPCRC Department Human Services Section
  6. Results will be provided to league Presidents on a weekly basis
  7. Denials will be sent by US mail to volunteers and by e-mail to Leaguerettes Presidents
  8. Appeal information will be included in denial paperwork

Picture ID badges will be issued when background checks are approved and coaches training is complete – badges MUST be worn when working with children

Required Coaching Classes for all Volunteers Assisting with Player Practice and Games

  1. Pre-Registration is now needed for Coaches Training (2010 Dates listed in the link below). Please call 744-5595, x221 to sign up for class. County class is good for two years, good for all sports and the cost is $30.00
  2. NYSCA online classes are now accepted in lieu of County training via https://www.nays.org/nyscaonline/signup.cfm. Member ID numbers are needed. The class is good for one year, cost $25.00 and is sport specific

Classes begin promptly and no one is admitted after 15 minutes past starting time. Pre-registration is required for all classes. All People's Life Center is on Sligh Avenue just east of 56th St. and next to King High School.
